Raddon Financial Group
Recognizes Top 20 Credit Unions at Annual CEO Forum
Crystal Performance Awards honor credit unions in two asset categories
based on top-performance in growth, income, efficiency and margin
management
LOMBARD, Ill.,
September 7, 2011 – Raddon Financial Group (RFG), a provider of
research-based solutions to financial institutions and a strategic
business unit of Open Solutions Inc., recently presented its Crystal
Performance Awards at its annual CEO Forum to high-performing credit
unions in two asset classes: credit unions above $500 million and below
$500 million in assets. The awards recognize credit unions in each asset
category that achieve top ranking on a balanced scorecard measuring
growth, income, efficiency and margin management. More than 500 credit
unions were evaluated in this year’s ranking.
Each Crystal Performance Award recipient ranked among the top two or three
percent of all credit unions analyzed by RFG for two consecutive reporting
periods. The award-winning credit unions were invited to attend the
invitation-only CEO Forum, held August 17th through 19th at the Ritz
Carlton Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, California.
“We are very pleased to recognize those credit unions that have shown
outstanding results this past year,” said Bill Handel, Vice President of
Research and Product Development with RFG. “These organizations have
consistently performed at a high-level and exhibit operational excellence
in managing efficiency. Credit unions that receive this accolade tend to
perform well despite the interest rate environment and challenges in their
local economies.”
“It is an honor to be recognized by Raddon Financial Group for our
continued devotion to maintaining high-performance standards,” said John
R. Rhea, President and CEO of Robins Federal Credit Union. “Our commitment
to exceptional member service and quality products differentiates us in
the market and helps serve the needs of our diverse marketplace of
consumers and small businesses. This award serves as positive
reinforcement that our strategies are indeed industry best practices.”
Louis Hernandez, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Open Solutions Inc., delivered
the keynote address at this year’s CEO Forum titled Collaboration:
Leveraging the Power of Community. In his address, Hernandez emphasized
how credit unions can improve the local communities they serve by
collaborating with each other, their partners, and their members.
“The CEO Forum is an excellent opportunity for credit union leaders from
across the country to collaborate on common business problems and share
new ideas. The Crystal Performance Awards recognize those credit unions
that have enjoyed the most success implementing these ideas, setting an
example for others in the industry,” stated Hernandez. “The organizations
honored this year should take pride in their accomplishments, especially
considering the difficult market conditions and regulatory challenges
community institutions face today.”
A highlight of this year’s CEO Forum was the CEO Panel Discussion,
moderated by Bob Dye, General Manager and COO of RFG. Panelists included
Doug Allman, President and CEO NASA Federal Credit Union, John Tippets,
President and CEO North Island Credit Union, Marc Schaefer, President and
CEO Truliant Federal Credit Union and Mike Mastro, President and CEO Los
Angeles Firemen’s Credit Union.
“The RFG CEO Forum provides an opportunity to communicate the industry’s
most pressing challenges and brightest opportunities,” Schaefer explained.
“It’s not often that you have the chance to discuss with veteran CEOs,
representing progressive, high-performing credit unions, how we can work
more collaboratively as an industry to better serve our members and
ultimately enhance their financial lives.”
To be eligible for the Crystal Performance Award, a credit union must
participate in the CEO Strategies Group for an in-depth analysis of the
credit union’s financials, sales, products and member household
relationships.
